Parks
and Places Bozeman is nestled in the midst of three
mountain ranges--the Bridger's, the Spanish Peaks and the Hyalite
range--plus many major rivers and waterways. Outdoor recreational
opportunities abound within the city limits or just minutes a way offer
hiking, Blue Ribbon fishing, snowmobile, downhill and cross country
skiing, mountain biking, hunting and camping all available.

Yellowstone National Park, our nations
oldest and largest national park, is home of Old Faithful. Only 90 miles
away, the Park can be reached driving through the beautiful Gallatin
Canyon or the Paradise Valley. Or just stay in town and enjoy what
Bozeman has to offer!

Parks
Beall Park
The Beall Park Art Center offers creative
fine art classes for young and old. The Park also has covered picnic
area and grills. surrounded by towering pines. In the winter the Park is
flooded for ice skating.
Bogart Park
Bogart features a public swimming pool, a
covered area for hockey, skating and weekly summer Farmer's Market,
grills, a band shell for summer evening concerts, and playground
equipment plus tennis courts.
Aasheim Park
A large playing field is home to the
Gallatin Lions Football program for 5th and 6th grades plus numerous
softball games.
Bozeman Recreation
Complex
Starting in the early spring through late
fall, you will find softball and soccer being played. City recreation
leagues sponsor softball for both boys and girls and the AYSO soccer
league provides boys and girls teams from first grade through high
school starting the first Sunday after Labor Day and playing though the
end of October. There are adult softball and soccer leagues also.
East Gallatin Park
The east Gallatin Park possesses a
natural swimming area, a beach, fishing area and picnic grounds.
Kirk Park
Kirk Park has barbecue grills, picnic
tables and giant playing fields which are surrounded by play ground
equipment. A softball field is located next to the park.
Lindley Park
Lindley Park has a covered picnic area,
barbecue grills and playground equipment plus a golf course. The annual
Sweet Pea Festival the first full weekend in August is held here. A
cross country ski trail begins here and winds around the Highland area.
North Grand Park
North Grand Park has lush playing fields
and picnic tables.
Linear Park
Bozeman is fortunate to have linear parks
for walking, jogging and riding bikes. There are many mountain bike
routes available in the surrounding area.
East Gallatin State
Recreation Area
Located north of Bozeman, Glen Lake has a
300 foot beachfront, a sand volleyball court, shelter and horseshoe
pits.
Bozeman Pond
On the west end of town, next to the Main
Mall, the pond is stocked with rainbow, brook and brown trout and perch.
The area features a pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms and walking
trails.
Peet's Hill
At the corner of South Church and Story
the hill is a designed to walk your dog under voice control. A prime
walking area in the summer months, the winter see many sledders enjoy
the great snow .

Teams
Montana State
University Bobcats
Offer NCAA Division 1 athletics. Sports
offered are football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball,
rodeo, golf, skiing, tennis and track.
Bozeman Kodiaks
The Kodiaks area Independent Minor League
Football franchise. Their home field is in Belgrade.
Ice Dogs
An American Frontier Hockey League team,
the Ice Dogs home rink is the Valley Ice Gardens, just west of Bozeman
at Four Corners. The Ice Gardens also offer recreational skating, figure
skating lessons and hockey clinics and also concerts and other community
events.
Bozeman
Hawks
The Hawks represent the Bozeman High
School. Boys and girls soccer, swimming and basketball, football,
volleyball, track, cross country, tennis, golf, and speech and debate
are all outstanding programs at the High School. The Hawks has been the recipient
of the Great Fall Tribune All-Sport Trophy for the last six of seven
years.
Soccer
Soccer is played in the spring through
the Montana Youth Soccer Association. Bozeman has teams from U-11
through U-19 and has wins several state championships each year.
Skiing
World class skiing is available at either
Bridger Bowl or Big Sky. Bridger Bowl has an average snowfall of
350" and 2000 vertical feet of lifts served terrain plus an
additional 500 vertical for those hiking to the ridge. 25% of this runs
are beginner, 35% intermediate, 30% advanced, 10% expert.
Big Sky has 15 lifts on two mountains
which include 1 15 passenger tram, 3 high speed detachable quad chair
lifts, 3 triple and 3 surface tow. The mountain averages 400" of
snow annually. The trails are 10% beginner, 47% intermediate and 43%
advanced
Cross country skiing is also found at
Lone Mountain Ranch or Bohart Ranch or on the many Forest Service trails
throughout the area.
Snowmobile
Several trails are available within a
short drive of Bozeman. The Hyalite area, Bridger Range area and
the Big Sky Snowmobile Trail system.
Golf
Bozeman is home to two private and two
public golf courses. Valley View and Riverside are both private 18 hole
courses and public courses are Bridger Creek is a 18 hole course and
Cottonwood Hills is 27 holes.
Stock Car Racing
The Gallatin International Speedway is
the home of stock car racing on Friday nights during the summer. Various
classes compete for prizes.
